Outfit Of The Day

Hello lovelies!

I've been really ill/busy with college recently so I haven't gotten around to doing any new blog posts in the last few days. I did buy a new kimono from H&M yesterday though and I wore it today so I thought I'd do an Outfit Of The Day Post. I decided to get it after Chloe's post. I loved her outfit a lot and thought I'd copy her a little. Haha. Hope you don't mind, Chlo!

First of all, I'd just like to apologize for the poor camera quality. I'm having to use my phone right now because my camera is broken. :-( I will get this sorted out as soon as possible and start posting more.

I teamed my kimono with a plain black top, jegging's, and some heeled ankle boots. I've never really been a fan of Kimono's unless I'm on holiday abroad in a hot country. Haha. But I really love this one! It looks so girly and pretty and it's exactly my style. I'm also a big fan of floral things so it was practically love at first sight.

I don't shop at H&M very often. I usually shop at Topshop, New Look, River Island, Dorothy Perkins. After going in their yesterday though I'm definitely going to have to shop there more often. They had some really beautiful clothes in and I will definitely be paying another visit soon!

If you want to buy this beauty, it's only £14.99 from H&M. Such a bargain! It also looks lovely on. It's a nice fit and I couldn't be happier with it. I definitely recommend this to anyone!

This is probably one of my favourite items of clothing right now.

What is you favourite item of clothing? I'd love to know!

DIY Valentines Day Gift Idea

Valentines day is coming up and for those of you who are in relationships (I'm not included in this) are going to want to do something special for that special someone in your life. You don't need to spend huge amounts of money to do this. I think being creative and making your love something yourself rather than buying it from a shop is incredibly romantic. It shows you've spent time with their gift and tried to make it as special as you can.

I thought it'd be cute to make some heart shape chocolates and decorate them.

All you need to make them is:

       1. 1 bar of dairy milk chocolate
       2. A heart mould
       3. Some foil (I used gold)
       4. A cute box
       5. A saucepan, bowl, knife, spoon

They're really easy to make, but I'll write a little step by step guide for you.

Put some water in to a saucepan and place it on a hob at a low heat. Put some chocolate into a bowl and put the bowl over your saucepan. Make sure the water is just touching the bottom of your bowl.

Keep the bowl on the saucepan until all the chocolate has fully melted. Give it a little stir as well. It'll make it melt faster.

One the chocolate has melted, turn the hob off and take your bowl out of the saucepan. (Be careful, your bowl could be really hot)

Now, start spooning the chocolate into your heart shaped mould.

I found this part really hard to do. I did end up having quite a lot of chocolate at this point. Melted Chocolate is amazing!

Once you've spooned all of your chocolate into the mould, put it in the fridge for an hour or until all the chocolate has hardened up.When your chocolate has hardened up, take them out the fridge and take the chocolates out of your mould. If the chocolate doesn't come out of the mould easily, they will need to go back in the fridge for longer.

Now separate your chocolates. For example, if you've done 20, then 10 chocolates will be wrapped in the foil and 10 chocolates will be left as they are. If I were you, choose the ugliest looking chocolates to be wrapped in the foil. This is the really fun part!

Again, resist temptation to eat your chocolates.

Okay, now you've almost finished. Decorate your box with some pretty paper and put your chocolates inside it. You can now add some finishing touches. I put loads of heart sprinkles all over mine to make them look really cute and romantic.

There, now you have a Valentines day gift that didn't cost much and is super romantic and cute!

Hope you enjoy! :-)

Vitamin E Overnight Serum

So, I was having a look around The Body Shop today and saw this. I talked about Vitamin E oil in my "DIY Lip Balm" post because it's really good for moisturising and stops lips from getting chapped. This stuff is for your face so I am excited about using this. I decided to buy it and I really can't wait until I can use it tonight. It looks really good and I recommend it already. It costs £12 which is a bargain for what it is. It does so much for your skin:

  • 8h beauty sleep for your skin
  • Skin feels recharged, replenished and softer
  • Skin looks fresher, rested and more radiant
  • Our highest concentration of wheatgerm oil
  • Non-greasy, fast-absorbing formula
Definitely my favourite purchase of the day!

DIY Lip Balm

My lips haven't been coping well with these cold days at all and they've become very chapped. I have bought so many lip balms recently and none of it helps. It'll make them soft for a little bit but as soon as I get outside, bam, the chapped lips return. I was getting so sick of constantly applying and buying lip balm so I decided to do something about it. Usually home-made stuff is better so I thought I'd have a go at making one myself. I'm not usually one for making my own stuff because I'm not very creative etc. so I was really surprised when my lip balm came out so good. (The picture above isn't mine, by the way. I'm planing on making some more lip balm soon so I shall post some then) My lips haven't been chapped at all since I've been using my own. A few of my friends have also asked me to make them a lip balm and what makes making your own lip balm even better is that it's one of a kind. You can also add your own scents, colours and flavours. I definitely recommend you try making your own. It's great!

Ingredients you need to make your own lip balm:

1. 1 oz of candelilla wax. (You can also use soy or beeswax)
2. 1 oz of coconut oil, avocado oil, Shea butter, or whatever else you fancy.
3. 1/1 and a half oz of cocoa butter, floral waxes, or palm oil
4. 2 oz liquid oil jojoba oil or olive oil
5. A few drops of Vitamin E Oil
6. Essential oils (optional, your choice) - maximum 8 drops for each lip balm

The equipment you need:

1. Microwave-safe cup or bowl with pour spout
2. A digital scale (preferably)
3. A stirring spoon
4. A funnel that will fit opening of tubes/canisters
5. Lip balm tubes, canisters, pots
6. Labels, pens, stickers to decorate and personalise your lip balm.

Method:

1. Measure your wax. Put your wax into a microwaveable container and melt on high heat in 30 second bursts. (Stir your wax after ever 30 second burst) Keep doing this until your wax is a liquid.
2. Stir the mixture while you add all of your oils. First add your jojoba oil (or olive oil if you chose that) Then add your vitamin E oil, then add whichever oils you fancy. I chose rose oil for mine. (If the wax starts to harden while you're still mixing in ingredients, just put it in the microwave for another 30 seconds and stir!)
3. Pour your mixture into your pots or tube, it might be easier if you use a funnel to do this. Pour the mixture slowly into your containers, tapping a bit to remove any trapped air. If the resulting product cracks, it means you're pouring it while it's too hot - let it cool a bit and try again!
4. Leave your mixture for a few hours to set and when you return you'll have a great lip balm waiting for you to use.

You can use any flavourings, oils, or colourings you want. It all depends on what you're in the mood for. Make sure you add Vitamin E oil though. This helps moisturise your lips and stops them from getting chapped.

Hope you enjoy! :-)

Night routine (When sick)

I've been really ill these past two days so I haven't done much. I've been snuggled up in bed watching all my favourite movies and living on fruit and strawberry flavoured water. I haven't been very productive at all. I'm sick though, so I'm allowed to be lazy!

Baths are the best thing ever when you're ill. They always make me feel so much better and I seriously recommend you have one whenever you feel down. I used a Lush bath bomb in mine which turned my water pink, lit a few candles, put on a face mask and walla. Definitely my idea of heaven!

After my bath I decided to paint my nails. I absolutely love this nail varnish my Revlon. The colour is absolutely gorgeous and makes me feel really cute and girly whenever I use it. I love being a girl! It makes you feel so much better as well. A good pampering day is always good, especially when you're ill.

Finally, fruit is my go to food whenever I am ill. It makes me feel so much healthier and it definitely helps me get better quicker. If I don't eat lots of fruit when I'm ill, it takes twice as long for me to get better. Perfection in a bowl.

What do you like to do when you're ill?
